12 MOST IMPORTANT SEO TIPS IN 2019
Whenever you create a URL for one of your pages, make sure it contains the destination keyword.
Reddit is one of my favorite places to find unexplored keywords that my complexion does not know. Where else can you find a place where people literally discuss each subject under the sun?
So, how can Reddit be used for keyword research?
Let me guide you through an example. Let’s say you run a site that sells replacement bars for paleo diet meals. You do a paleo diet search on Reddit. Then, take a look at any subreddit or threads that cover that topic.
When you see a covered topic, again and again, you have a keyword that you should analyze. Enter that keyword in your favorite keyword research tool to see how many people are searching for that term on google.
Here is the issue that I see that many people commit, and it is a mistake that I made a lot in the past.
What is the issue?
When choosing keywords that have zero commercial intent, what exactly does commercial intent mean?
The commercial intention is a cocoon similar to that someone who searches for a certain keyword will buy it.
For example, someone looking for premium dance courses. It has a much higher commercial intent than that of some looking for free dance videos.
Fortunately, you can easily measure the business purpose of a keyword using Google’s keyword planner. The greater the estimated supply, the greater the commercial intent.
USE OF TITLE TAG MODIFIERS
Believe it or not, but most of your search engine traffic comes from very long and very specific searches.
For example, someone looking for a new pair of shoes can look for something like this
As expected, incredibly long keywords like this will not appear in any keyword research tool. If they do not appear in a tool, how can you optimize your surroundings? It’s easy, just add modifiers to your title tag.
Some of my favorite title tag modifiers are:
- THE CURRENT YEAR
- FREE SHIPPING
So you want your title tags to look like this. You will rank for your keyword, sports shoes and dozens of long tail keywords as well.
Do you remember the classification factor study that I mentioned before? Well, one of our most interesting findings was that the longer content tended to rank better than the shorter content.
In fact, we found that the average result of the first page in Google contained 1500-2000 words. Yes, this goes against the idea that people online have a short attention span, but the data shows that this is not true, because the fact is this:
Remember the previous content when I said that Google uses the click rate of your site as a ranking factor?
If many people click on your result, it sends Google a clear message that this page is a great result for this keyword and will give it a ranking boost.
The question is, how to improve your CTR?
One of the finest ways to get more clicks on your result is to add a number (1, 2, 3, ETC…) to your title tag. According to our recent industry study,
titles with numbers get 36% more clicks than titles without a number.
When I started with SEO, I used the first URL that appeared in my head, and that led to very ugly and long URLs.
Today, I make sure to use only short URLs, why?
As all things are the same, short URLs are classified better than long URLs. In fact, I recently analyzed a million Google search results and discovered that short URLs are better classified in Google.
A while ago, a webmaster trend analyst at Google said something very interesting: do not create pages of low quality or added value, we believe it is a waste of resources. The other thing is that you will not get quality traffic. If you have managed to obtain quality traffic, why do you burn resources on it?
In other words, having a lot of excess pages on your site is bad for SEO, and that is why I recommend removing pages from your site that does not generate traffic.
In fact, proven.com recently removed 10,000 pages from its site and is one of the main reasons why its organic traffic improved by 88% in six weeks.
In fact, in my experience, removing these pages can help the remaining pages are better classified in google.
Construction of broken links
The construction of broken links is one of my favorite white hat link building strategies. WHITE HAT AND BLOCK HAT SEO STRATEGIES
Is that how it works:
- Find a site you want to get a link to.
- Find a broken link on that site.
The easiest way to find broken links is to use the excellent Chrome extension “check my link”. When you find a broken link, look for a piece of content on your site that is a good replacement for the dead link; If you do not have something that can make a good replacement, feel free to create one.
I probably do not need to tell you that you should include your target keyword in your title tag, but what you may not know is that you also want to optimize your title tag for the click-through-rate. Why two reasons:
- When you improve your CTR, you get more traffic without the need for high rankings.
- Google recently stated that they use CTR as a ranking signal, and this makes sense if you think about it.
If many people click on your results, it sends Google a clear message that this page is a great result for these keywords and will give you a ranking boost.
I will show you exactly how to increase your click rate later in this blog, so stay tuned for us.
I probably do not need to tell you that to rank on Google or any other search engines today, you need to create backlinks,
The question is, how do you do it?
In my experience, nothing is better than outdated email. That said, there is a correct and incorrect way to spread by email. You see, most people send hundreds of unwanted emails requesting links. In fact, that’s what I did in the day. It did not work back then, and it definitely does not work today.
Did you know Amazon is the best place for keywords?
Well, you can, here’s how:
- First, find a popular book in your niche on Amazon.
- Next, check out the table of index or contents of the book. Each chapter is a potential topic or keyword idea.
- Finally, put the titles of the chapters in your favorite keyword search tool to see if they have been searched on google.
